The national dialogue about when to reopen has many of us thinking ahead and contemplating what the coming months and years in the performing arts might look like, based on what we know now. Livestreaming will not go away once we reopen, and it is a part of our new reality. Below are resources to help you navigate the complexities of livestreaming from licensing and permission requirements to what platforms to use.

And, while assessments on when to reopen performance venues and reschedule live events vary greatly by geographic location, physical space, event size and attendee population, we can all agree that safety comes first. APAP has compiled resources that can provide guidance how small events and venues can reopen as safely as possible under these incredibly challenging circumstances. 

Additionally, presenting, booking and touring in the COVID-19 era presents new challenges and raises new questions. The resources provide guidance on how to approach the work of the performing arts.

While the pandemic officially ended in 2023 and most performing arts organizations that survived it have reopened and restarted, the performing arts industry still finds itself in a state of recovery and reassessment.

While some resources below are inextricably tied to the pandemic, both finding a way forward safely, reengaging audiences, and navigating the complexities of livestreaming, the resources nonetheless provide a valuable reference to the lessons of that time.
