Why Support APAP?

The arts make us human. They inspire us. They fuel creativity. They bring us joy. They express our feelings. They strengthen understanding. They are fundamental to the social fabric, enduring even in difficult times.

The arts:

  • Improve health and well-being,
  • Unify communities,
  • Improve academic performance,
  • Strengthen the economy,
  • Drive tourism and revenue to local businesses,
  • Spark creativity and innovation,
  • Drive the creative industries,
  • Generate social impact.
The Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) provides professional development and educational support, networking opportunities, and leadership for the professionals who fuel the performing arts ecosystem in North America and beyond. APAP’s individual and organizational members represent every aspect of the industry—performers, presenters, producers, agents, and managers— from Broadway theaters to performing arts venues in cities and towns and on college and university campuses across the country. With more than 1,600 organizational and individual members which represents more than 5,000 performing arts professionals, APAP’s influence is felt broadly across the live performing arts industry.

As our collective work evolves, so does APAP’s role and promise for the future. By donating to APAP, you help the performing arts adapt to a changing landscape and help support, teach, and mentor the next generation of leaders who will shape the field for tomorrow. Your donation helps APAP:

  • Empower today's and tomorrow’s groundbreakers and innovators through our leadership programs;
  • Advance racial equity, diversity, and inclusion, so the presenting field truly reflects our communities and reimagines a more equitable world;
  • Support artists and other professionals through new, year-round learning opportunities.
In 2022, the nonprofit arts industry generated $151.7 billion in economic activity supporting 2.6 million jobs and generating $29.1 billion in government. (Data from Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 (AEP6 from Americans for the Arts).

By investing in local performing arts groups and venues, you can see the positive impact of your investments in the communities where they operate and their employees, customers and other stakeholders live, work and play. These local organizations are strengthened further by the Association of Performing Arts Professionals. We invite you to consider supporting APAP to extend your impact even further.
