APAP joins live event industry coalition to FIX the TIX!

FIX the TIX
APAP along with the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and a broad coalition of live event industry organizations and professionals are coming together to protect fans from price gouging and deceptive and predatory ticketing practices. The "FIX The TIX" Coalition also aims to protect artists and venues from lost ticket revenue.

On June 7, 2023, the Coalition released the "FIX The TIX Plan for Congress", a detailed roadmap for how Congress can fix ticketing to protect consumers, elevate creative economic development, and restore trust in the ticketing experience for fans and artists. Read the "FIX The TIX" plan.

Unfortunately, predatory ticket resellers are advancing legislation across the country and in Congress and convincing lawmakers claiming that they represent "consumer groups", while not serving real fans. All while we were "Saving Our Stages", these resellers have been lobbying legislators, and they are dangerously persuasive.

The live performance industry must band together to urge Congress to enact comprehensive ticketing reform that  restores integrity, equity, and transparency to the ticketing marketplace, and that safeguards consumers from fake tickets, price gouging, and other deceptive practices. Contact your Congressional Representatives now.

About the "FIX The TIX" Coalition:

With representation from venues, promoters and producers, the performing arts, artists groups, recorded music, and independent ticketing companies, this coalition represents stakeholders who take on all the risk to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences and bring joy, employment, and economic impact to communities across America.

Collectively the coalition is urging to federal lawmakers to enact legislation that ends industry practices that hurt fans, artists, and venues and replaces the nightmare many fans, artists, and venues currently navigate with a fair and transparent ticketing experience.
