APAP along with the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and a broad coalition of live event industry organizations and professionals are coming together to protect fans from price gouging and deceptive and predatory ticketing practices. The FIX the TIX coalition also aims to protect artists and venues from lost ticket revenue.
With representation from venues, promoters and producers, the performing arts, artists groups, recorded music, and independent ticketing companies, this coalition represents stakeholders who take on all the risk to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences and bring joy, employment, and economic impact to communities across America.
Collectively the coalition is urging to federal lawmakers to enact legislation that ends industry practices that hurt fans, artists, and venues and replaces the nightmare many fans, artists, and venues currently navigate with a fair and transparent ticketing experience.
As of May 11, 2023, the coalition includes:
Americans for the Arts Action Fund
American Association of Independent Music (A2IM)
Americans for the Arts
Artist Rights Alliance
Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP)
Black Music Action Coalition
Future of Music Coalition
Music Artists Coalition
Music Managers Forum
National Independent Talent Organization (NITO)
The Recording Academy
Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
Seattle Theater Group
Songwriters of North America
The Performing Arts Consortium (TPAC)
Universal Music Group
