APAP Fuels the Future by Embracing Rest

Dancer with arms stretched out, bathed in blue light. There is a sheer drape behind him through which you can see a string quartet performing.

Just over a year ago, APAP began a Sustainability Planning Process, and in August, we issued our five-year Sustainability Plan.

Like many organizations in the field, APAP survived the shared challenges of recent years. Now, in order to meet the future, the APAP Sustainability Plan will allow us to respond to major shifts in the sector. In the Plan, we will actualize a new vision while remaining true to our overall mission, codify our strategies and systems, and improve our internal capacity and long-term sustainability.

Central to this vision, strategy, capacity, and sustainability is the care of APAP’s team. You cannot reset without rest.

Read APAP President and CEO Lisa Richards Toney's "Rest assured: Embracing the pause" in this month's issue of International Arts Manager Magazine.

Having just delivered our massive annual conference and in order to meet the year-one milestones of our Sustainability Plan, the APAP staff will take a "purposeful pause" from February 3-28, 2025 in order to rest and reset.

Rest assured, we are putting systems in place to maintain essential member services during this pause. Here are some FAQsThe APAP staff will resume work on March 3.

We are excited to return in March ready to move forward with the renewed energy, clarity, and focus we need to implement our Plan and serve the field, as we work toward the long-term sustainability of both APAP and our people.

In February, while the staff is on pause, you may email APAP at info@apap365.org for general inquiries and apapnyc@apap365.org for conference-related questions. These email boxes will be monitored periodically throughout the month.
